What a great article I ran across at www.active.com and I can’t think of any better time to post it than now, right after the Super Bowl Party, well except for maybe just before the Super Bowl party. Too many of us wind up at these parties and graze all day long at the table while enjoying a few dozen beers with friends and never really think about the consequences or even begin to consider some portion control. OK, there are those lucky few ( I call them Ba@*ards) that are still slim or svelte or just damned good looking and they ate half the table. Well sadly, they look great on the outside but what about the inside?

The Perfect Real Estate day.

What do you think it would consist of? I know what my perfect day would be and no I’m not going to say “lying on the beach with a mojito not working”. I will say that beginning the day early, let’s say 5:00 am with a piece of toast and a steaming cup of French Roast (PEET’S) then hit the gym at 6:00 for an hour of cardio and 15 minutes of resistance training. Get back to house at 7:30, grab a banana and a recovery drink (P90X Baby), shower, dress and get to the office by 8:30.

Grab another steaming cup of French Roast (PEET’S), check and reply to email, make a posting to Facebook, blog a bit, check new listings for the day and match with existing buyers, follow up with all existing escrows. Now it is right around 10:00 so grab another cup of java and then off to show property or list property.

12:30, time for lunch with clients past or present at one of my favorite restaurants ( I have many)and back to the office by 2:00 to meet with clients to list property or write offers.

4:30, off to the gym for a group exercise class or an hour of cardio and 30 minutes of resistance training.

There! PERFECT!

Now, why oh why do I allow my days to get completely out of whack?

Fred on the Economy

OK, I found this a bit too late for this past Holiday season and I think that it still applies for today and the rest of this year right this years holiday season, so take just a few minutes with a nice cup of coffee (I prefer French Roast, Peet’s to be exact) and follow this link to Blip.tv and listen to what Fred Thompson has to say about the economy. You know Fred, he used to play the DA on Law and Order.

Fed drops rate again…

Now when you read the title of this blog read it using that lovable voice of Forrest Gump. You know when he kept going to the Whitehouse and meeting the President. Well so now we are in unprecidented territory with a first time ever range of 0-0.25% interest. The sad thing is that it seems most people don’t think that will help much since banks are hoarding the money they still have so their balance sheets look much better and consumers are not doing just that, consuming. What is that infamous curse? May you be born in interesting times or something like that? I think we are in for some very interesting times.

Goal setting for a new year

As we all know it is very important for those who succeed year after year in any business to have well defined written goals. We all have attended the workshops and sales seminars stressing this very point. Problem is, an overwhelming majority of us start out with such good intentions and then we let life get in the way. I am one of the worst offenders. Oddly enough as I go through the goals I set last year for this, there are a few things on the list that I did accomplish and of course a bunch that I did not.

I, like many others, have a tendency to make the list, look it over, oh…. say through the end of January and then poof I get busy and let life take over. This year I vow one more time to look at my goals at least once a week, okay once a month, yea right, how about once a quarter?

STOP! to be truly successful we need to look at our goals on a consistent basis and reorganize them as life changes or take some goals out of the picture. You know, the ones that really weren’t goals in the first place but you wrote them down anyway. So, review your goals, mark down what progress you have made in attaining them and keep moving forward.

Below is a website that I found to be helpful and believe me there are a million sites to help you with this task. Some want you to join or buy something and some are just helpful. So now is the perfect time to look at your goals, write them down and make next year a much more productive and Happy year.
