Service after the close. Always call your REALTOR !!!!!!
OK, I understand not wanting to unduly bother your REALTOR after you close escrow on your new home. But when you first take possession of your new abode, especially if you’re a first-time home buyer, there are usually lots of questions that need answers and your agent is the logical choice, and usually the best choice. Stuff like who should I call for plumbing, electrical, gardening, painting, etc, etc, etc. You can fill in the blank. But as time goes on and the questions are fewer, you may not think of your real estate agent as the first person to call. I want my buyers and sellers to call me forever and about anything. I’ve been called for a good recipe. But when it’s real estate related, always call your REALTOR first. It could be about property taxes or an offer in the mail to “Homestead” your home. Sounds serious, but it isn’t. And even if something comes up that would be in a homeowners best interest, we can tell them who to call, and where to go, and usually for the best price. Think of us as a “hub” on a bicycle wheel and all of the spokes are our different connections to all of the various industries we deal with on a daily basis. I recently had a client ask me a question in passing which alerted me to the fact that there was an issue with the title on the home we had sold her. Now it’s a relatively simple problem for me because all I had to do was make a few phone calls, but it was a huge problem for her because she didn’t know where to start. I guess we can all do a better job of making sure our clients know that we aren’t there just for the duration of their transaction, but we’re there for life. ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS call your REALTOR. …even for a recipe.

Good info. And I will note that this is why is it so important to get a GOOD realtor like Wallace & Kelly, cuz I’ve had all sorts of calls at work with people that say “…. My realtor told me….” and I just roll my eyes. Too many bozo’s out there who don’t know what in the world they’re talking about & give you guys a really bad name. Love you guys, D<
