Boont Amber Ale
Well Mr. Wallace and I went to our favorite lunch spot, Tresetti’s, in our hometown Friday and ran into a couple of other regulars who are affectionately referred to as either The Burger Boy’s or The Mikes. You see, whether 2 of them are there, or all three, they are all named Mike. Oh, and my name is Mike. So some days when they walk in, we just yell “hey Mikes”. It’s kind of like yelling “hey Norm” at Cheers.
Anyway, it was Mike’s Birthday (who else’s could it be?) on the 16th and he was compelled to buy me a beer because it was my birthday a week and a half prior. I bought them a beer because of it being Mikes’ Birthday and then he said, “here I want you to try this beer” and handed me a bottle of Boont Amber Ale. Wow, I ramble….
So Saturday night I sat down with a few friends of mine at yet another birthday party (Don’t worry, her name is not Mike), and we opened this wonderful brew. It had a tantalizing Ale taste, yet a very mellow finish. This went quite well with the chicken picatta and pesto pasta that was served that evening, as well as with the boysenberry napolean that was our dessert.
It is very easy to understand why this brew has won so many medals at so many of the past years’ Great American Brew Festival. A very pleasant combination of color and taste with quite a robust head. Excellent, Thank you Mike!
