March’s housing stats grim….Really?

April 15, 2008 · Filed Under Real Estate

You know what I heard the other day? I hear that there have been a few foreclosures in the area lately. Ok, enough with the sarcasm and on with the other …let us say… more positive side of this story that has been written about for the past year almost on a daily basis. Can you say enough already, yea I know….But it is newsworthy.

What is also newsworthy is that closed transactions have increased in Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties and some fine people who have been unable to purchase their bit of the American Dream in the location of their choice are finally able to grab that golden ring and be very happy homeowners. Stanislaus County has seen an increase in closed transaction for the first quarter of  2008 of 139 homes and San Joaquin County has had an increase of 203 homes closed for the same quarter compared to 2007. Now my math tells me that there are 342 new homeowners in our little area of the world.

So check out the Modesto Bee article March’s Housing Stats Grim and then think outside the negative box about all the positive opportunities this crazy lender driven foreclosure market we are in and surviving.

it’s soooo easy to be sarcastic on this subject… BUT it would be more appropriate to just say I too believe that the glass is half full and not half empty. With multiple offers on many properties it’s hard to believe the media’s doom & gloom. Those folks waiting for the market to “hit bottom” need to remember that we don’t usually know we’ve hit bottom until we are already working our way back up!

Yay! You make a great point… we never know where the bottom is until it is where the bottom was :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and share your wisdom.
