Acting like a REALTOR.

April 1, 2008 · Filed Under Real Estate

You know the past few months it has become increasingly difficult to work the way (in my opinion) a REALTOR ought to. Let me explain breifly… I know that I am an old fart and have been in the business for awhile, not as long as some, and I have become accustomed to the spirit of cooperation among the agents and their Brokers. However, in this rediculous lenders market that we are all experiencing, it is becoming the “norm” for agents to forget about that and disregard messages left by other agents just trying to do their jobs.

Agents, when you get a call from an agent inquiring about a property you have listed, call them back. If you feel you do not have time to do that simple task hire someone who will. If an agent submits an offer on your property, email them or call them or fax them that you have received their offer and will submit it and then keep them informed on their offers progress even when their clients offer was not the best and did not get accepted. the last part will decrease the number of phone calls receive in any given day. If you cannot manage this get out of the business!!!!

Remeber our tip-o-the week 03/31/08.

Now, there are some very competent exceptions out there and they have staffed up to handle the High Volume of bank owned propeties. They are able to do all these things and smile while doing it. They understand that they need the agents working with the buyers as much as the agents need those with the listings.  As a REALTOR our only concern should be our Clients.

Well, off to a client meeting… wish me and my client luck.

Kelly…
